2022

In 2022,  my primary focus was to research and design an RN role-specific onboarding program. Highlights include:

- Conducted field research through virtual in-person interviews and listening sessions, and branch visits.

- Worked with an external consultant to develop onboarding materials including a 12-month learning pathway and weekly learning maps.

- Collaborated with the development team updating the general orientation program.

- Researched clinical resources to determine changes/additions to the current onboarding program.

- Completed continuous cycles of design-develop-review with the project champions and SMEs.

- Piloted the program in 8 branches including conducting introductory training sessions, virtually supporting the branches through each new hire including creating and sending support materials, and evaluating and updating the material / messaging / implementation through the pilot. 

- Piloted results included a reduction in attrition. Company-wide rollout planned in the Spring. Two additional role-specific onboarding programs in development based on RN onboarding.

Side projects included producing and editing two Performance Management videos and job aids as well as other minor design pieces.

Change. New. Innovate. Teamwork. Did I mention that I joined a newly formed Learning and Development division, with all new team members, no processes in place, little understanding from the field on what we would be doing, and a company that was rebranding? Throughout this year I had to:
