Sarah Mertz, M.Ed.
Welcome!
I am a learning design expert who uses instructional strategies and data for performance improvement and behavior change.
PROFESSIONAL:
I find people – how they think and how they learn – fascinating. This is evident by my BS in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and my MEd in Adult Learning and Training and Development with a Specialty in Instructional Design from NC State University.
My career has followed a learning and development path through four different industries: HVAC systems, executive coaching, education/publishing and healthcare/community health. My favorite roles have been the “smart” ones, or the roles that made me think each day.
Though it may sound cliché, I am a dedicated and hard-working learning and development professional who creates quality and engaging learning.
What do you do as an Instructional Designer do? Thank you for asking! I created a helpful flyer for a high school career fair.
PERSONAL:
I love desserts but also love to run. My favorite is to run in the woods. If there are desserts to enjoy after the trail run, even better.
We laugh a lot in our house. Puns especially make us giggle and roll our eyes.
Our cat, who we simply call "Kitty," loves to nap in my office. I move her when her snoring gets so loud I can't hear my conference calls.
My travel goal is to see all 50 states by the time I am 50. I have 15 states left to see!
