Performance Management Videos
Project Goal: Instructional materials to support the Performance Management process. Deliverables: Instructional video and PDF job aid for the managers, instructional video and PDF job aid for the associates.
This project is an example of team members putting out a project yesterday (read: quickly). We had a week to learn the process, determine how the technology would work in the development process, develop, edit and release.
Why it's one of my favorites:
I did it! On a serious note, this project stretched my instructional and technical skills. It tested my resolve and patience in putting out a project.
I would have made changes to my work for the end result, but because of business needs / goals, I had to release the deliverables for use. I am getting better of letting go of a project before I am ready.
Later reflection on the project resulted in the development of a streamlined process for future similar projects.
Results: positive response from managers. A set of instructional videos requested for a new process for Jan 2023.

Video scripting process-
When the project allows, I lay out the video script details in a filming storyboard. It allows the stakeholders to imagine the process and end result, and allows for any questions or changes to be made before filming day. Sample storyboard
Live Telehealth Visit between nurse and patient
Project Goal: to illustrate proper procedures for a nurse/patient telehealth call
The Nursing Professional Development Specialist (SME) requested help in filming this piece for an eLearning. The filming needed to show both the nurse's and patient's faces. This clip illustrates a telehealth greeting.
Why it's one of my favorites:
This was a staged call, but a real nurse/patient interaction.* It is a privilege when I get to hear the visits!
As we set up the camera, we decided last minute to use an additional phone camera so that we could have two perspectives. It was a new type of shot to set up because we were trying to also show a very clear picture of the tablet.
I was able to edit the two video clips in Premiere Pro to show side by the side. I increased the audio clip from the patient video to create a better sound. The end result turned out great!

Live filming for LMS
Project Goal: to film education to put into the LMS system for later reference.
The physicians began an educational lecture series as a component of their learning plan to meet skills gaps. Due to varying clinician schedules, I recorded to put into the LMS. I filmed this using a professional video camera and microphone in the hospital unit during business hours to a live audience.
Why it's one of my favorites:
As the physician was nearing the end of the presentation, the hospital fire alarm began blaring. He paused his presentation as everyone in the room looked at each other wondering if we needed to evacuate (we did not). Additional skill needed for this filming: a sense of humor!
The physician repeated the interrupted piece of the presentation. While editing in Premiere Pro, I pieced together the best parts of the presentation from his two takes.
No running time. This presentation contains proprietary information specific to the audience and cannot be included here.
How-to Videos:
Project Goal:
Note: this project started out as a how-to video on handwashing. Due to patient and family needs and positive responses, we created 16 how-to videos in 2021.
My role: Manage process. Work with SME for the proper script. Gather materials. Coordinate models, supplies, locations, and voice talent. Film the action.
Result: Videos released on the company website and social media platforms. Sample: https://hosparushealth.org/blog/how-to-change-bed-linens-tips-for-caregivers/
Sample storyboard for videos to be released in early 2022.
Original Project Goal: to create a how-to video as part of a microlearning text message education plan. This clip focused on proper handwashing education. The additional picture below was sent out later to reinforce the learning.
I met with Occupational Health (SME) for final content approval and filmed this with a coworker from the education team.
Why it's one of my favorites:
We did not use fancy equipment - only an Apple iPhone.
This was recorded in November 2019 and released with an instructional PDF (below). In 2020 the pandemic hit, and our Marketing team released it via social media as part of a How-to video series for patients and families.
We received feedback on the YouTube page: "thank you for the video, it was just what I was looking for."
