Live Virtual Presentation  on using YouTube in Adult Education

December 2020

Live virtual training on how YouTube enhances Adult Learning theories for the National Partnership for Hospice Innovation (NPHI).

The VP of Education had a last minute request - facilitate a live virtual training for the National Partnership for Hospice Innovation (NPHI) professional organization the next day.  I was to co-facilitate the session with 2 team members. To prepare, I called a friend who is a Google Certified Trainer for tips and combined them with my knowledge of Andragogy and  Universal Design.

The sample clip is the start of the presentation. We fielded many questions and positive feedback at the conclusion.  My teammates and I received an organization recognition award for our presentation.

Live Virtual Instruction on    Google Sites

Spring 2021 -

I joined Connie Malamed's Mastering Instructional Design professional development group in the Fall of 2020. In the Spring, she held a 4-week weekly course on Portfolio Design and asked that I demonstrate how to use Google Sites. Connie holds two sessions on the same topic. I was available for only one session, so we prerecorded my demonstration. I attended one session live in which we watched the recording and answered questions live to the class of 15 industry professionals.  A recorded version of our session is on her professional development site for global members to access at any time.

Live Instruction on Adult Learning and Effective Precepting

June 2023 -

A Regional Vice President asked that I attend an onsite training for her Preceptors. Her directive was to spend several hours going through available resources and any other information that would help the Preceptors feel more comfortable using the role onboarding materials.

Through analysis and discussion, I created a learning session to meet these needs. It included a book study on a book supplied to them ahead of time, an audit of the current interview guide for their role, and broad-scope instruction on how they can use adult learning theories to better serve their new associates. We had open and honest discussion with their leader in the room. It was a great session resulting in positive feedback and better implementation of the onboarding program.
